HAMBURG Sud has christened one of a series of three identical 4,294-TEU containerships on charter from Norddeutsche Reederei H Schuldt, the Cap Graham, in Valparaiso, Chile.
The naming ceremony marks the first time in the German shipping line's 137-year history that it has named a containership in Chile.
A statement from the carrier said that together with her two sister ships, the Cap Gilbert and the Cap Gregory, as well as Hamburg Sud's Bahia class vessels, the Cap Graham will be deployed on Sling 1 of the shipping line's container shipping service between Asia and South America's west coast.
The 264-metre-long Cap Graham is equipped with 400 reefer container plugs.
