WSC names two board members

The World Shipping Council has appointed two new board members to fill the seats of two directors who are retiring.

   Y.M. Kim, chief operating officer of Hanjin, will replace J.W. Park, also of Hanjin. Joachim Konrad, a member of Hamburg Süd’s executive board, will complete the term of Klaus Meves, also of Hamburg Süd.

   Other members of the council's board are: Ron Widdows, NOL (Chairman); Philip Chow, OOCL; Thomas Crowley Jr., Crowley Maritime Corp.; Doron Goder, Zim Integrated Shipping Services; Ulrich Kranich, Hapag-Lloyd; Knud Pontoppidan, A.P. Moller - Maersk; Rodolphe Saadé, CMA CGM; Sun Jia-Kang, COSCO Container Lines; and Masakaza Yakushiji, MOL.

   The World Shipping Council is an association of liner shipping companies with offices in Brussels and Washington, D.C. Its members carry more than 90 percent of international containerized trade.
