SCHENKER Singapore (Pte) Ltd is the first third-party logistics player (3PL) organisation in Singapore to attain the certification on Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices (GDPMDS).
Before this, it is also the first 3PL in Singapore to be Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certified in the scope of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Medicinal Products, the company announced in a statement.
The audit was conducted by an independent certification body and witnessed by senior officers from Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) and Health Sciences Authority (HSA).
This certification acknowledges that Schenker Singapore (Pte) Ltd operates a good distribution practice for medical devices management system, which has been assessed to conform to HSA TS-01: Good Distribution Practice For Medical Devices.
Business partners can be assured that the DB Schenker team has the knowledge and competence to deliver quality supply chain management services, while meeting regulatory compliance. The team comprised of GDP trained personnel including registered pharmacist, QEHS/Dangerous Goods specialists and logistics professionals, said Singapore Schenker managing director Charlie Kok.
Frost & Sullivan, Schenker Singapore (Pte) Ltd, was also the winner of the Best Pharmaceutical Logistics Service Provider for three consecutive years (2008, 2007 & 2006) at the ASEAN 4 Logistics Award.
The company's latest facility investment is a dedicated healthcare logistics hub, strategically located within the Tuas Biomedical Park.
Planned for completion in mid-2009, the hub is designed and built specifically to meet stringent healthcare requirements, including strict pest control and fully-sealed docks.
