Maersk Logistics will operate "as a more independent business unit within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group's container activities," the company said in a statement issued today. "This will help us further drive customer satisfaction and sustainable profitability."
Henrik Ramskov, chief executive officer of Maersk Logistics, said, "The higher degree of independence will enable us to design a much better organizational setup for executing our strategy. It will minimize internal bureaucracy and enable much faster and more customer-focused decision-making processes."
As part of the strategy implementation, Maersk Logistics plans to simplify its organizational structure from 14 to 12 regions, and set up an independent sales force to serve customers who want supply chain management solutions.
It expects to complete the reorganization by the end April.
