China's Shenzhen Chiwan Wharf Dec cargo turnover up 6.6 pct yr-on-yr

Shenzhen Chiwan Wharf Holdings Ltd (SZA 000022; SZB 200022) said it handled 5.192 mln tons of cargo in December, up 6.6 pct year-on-year.

In a statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the port operator said that container throughput in December rose 5.5 pct from a year earlier to 496,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

In the 12 months to December, cargo handled by the company rose 10.8 pct to 58.938 mln tons, while container throughput increased 14.1 pct to 6.003 mln TEUs.
