The Norwegian shipping company Viken Shipping confirms that it has bought five bulk carriers from the bankrupt shipping company Britannia Bulk, Lloyds List reports. The price for the five vessels is not disclosed but according to brokers, Viken Shipping paid in total USD 77 million for three panamax and two handymax vessels. The price is among the lowest since August.
The Danish company Norden will take over commercial and technical management for the five vessels employed in the spot market, according to Lloyds List quoting Hans Lindal, chairman of Viking Shipping.
