APL moved 208,200 40-foot containers in the four weeks ended Aug. 22, a rise of 10 percent compared to the same period last year, Singapore-based parent Neptune Orient Lines reported Monday.
NOL said the volume growth was mainly attributable to more boxes being shipped in the intra-Asia trade and also the Asia/Europe and transpacific backhaul trade routes.
Average revenue per FEU for the period improved 7 percent to $3,116 from $2,910 largely due to increased bunker recoveries.
For the year, APL's volume gained 13 percent to 1.68 million FEUs with the average revenue per FEU up by the same margin at $3,008.
