Maersk Tankers order 4 VLCCs

Maersk Tankers, part of the Danish A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, has ordered four very large crude carriers (VLCCs) from STX Shipbuilding in South Korea.

The vessels will be delivered in 2011 and 2012 and will boost the company's VLCC fleet to 18 by 2013.

Maersk Tankers operates more than 170 vessels including owned, time-chartered and partnership vessels. It's order book stands at 57 vessels including owned and long-term chartered tonnage.
