Modern Terminals received a CISPROS Level 3 certificate

Modern Terminals has become the first organization in Hong Kong to receive a CISPROS (Continual Improvement Safety Programme Recognition Of System) Level 3 certificate issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC), a statutory body that promotes safety and health in the workplace and safeguards Hong Kong’s valuable workforce.
CISPROS is based on the principle of continuous improvement. Organizations that adopt an occupational safety and health management system (OSHMS) and work vigorously to improve it further are awarded certificates that recognize their progress.
The CISPROS Level 3 certificate is the highest level that the OSHC has so far awarded. It confirms that safety and health programmes comply with own internal safety standards and government regulations. It also shows OSHMS is mature, having undergone status review and continuous improvement cycles.
CISPROS consists of four levels – the first is the planning and development of an OSHMS; the second is the planning, development and maintenance of the system; the third is continuous improvement of the system; and the highest level (Level 4) is the existence of a modern and self-regulating OSHMS.
Modern Terminals joined the CISPROS programme in 2005 and received a CISPROS Level 2 certificate in 2006. So, it has not taken Modern Terminals long to obtain a Level 3 certificate this year.
