AP Moller-Maersk CEO Nils Andersen told media after an event in Singapore that Maersk Line is exercising its option for another ten 18,000-TEU vessels, reported London's Lloyd's List.
"The first decision will come in June and we do expect we will exercise that option for an additional 10," said Mr Andersen, reported Newark's Journal of Commerce.
In February, Maersk Line, the world's largest carrier, ordered 10 mega vessels of 18,000 TEU from South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering with a cost of US$190 million each as well as an option to order 20 more.
