Grand China Shipping's new transpac loop evokes late TCC service

Apr 18, 2011 Shipping

AFTER the recent passing of The Containership Company (TCC) from the transpacific scene, it now seems Grand China Shipping's new weekly service, deploying five 2,700-TEU ships later this month, covers some of the same ground.

Grand China's SPX service has the following rotation: Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Shanghai and Long Beach ending with a quick 12-day Shanghai to Long Beach run similar to the TCC shuttle.

American Shipper reported the Grand China Shipping plans to celebrate the arrival of its first ship on April 26 at Total Terminals International at Pier T in Long Beach.

Grand China Shipping is part of Grand China Logistics and HNA Group. HNA Group is based in Haikou, Hainan province and owns eight air transport, logistics, airports, hotels, tourism, retailing, finance and catering subsidiaries.
