16 ships to be escorted by icebreakers in the Gulf of Finland

As April 12th (8:00am - MT), there are 16 vessels in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, which requested icebreaker assistance, the Port Authority of Big Port St. Petersburg reports.


The St. Petersburg PA reports of 29 merchant ships currently located in the water area, 13 of them - in motion.


Over the past day 22 ships have reached the entrance buoy of St Petersburg port. 44 vessels are westbound from the Gulf area, 10 ships called at the port and 10 - departed. Overall, there are 64 cargo ships and 411 local ships at the port.


Two vessels are subject to ice restrictions, 1 of them - at the port of St. Petersburg and one – at Ust-Luga.
