Manchester's TDG offers hazmat TEU/FEU tanker trucking

MANCHESTER's TDG (Transport Development Group) will launch a TEU/FEU and ISO tank container service to move dangerous goods at its Thurrock depot which handles Tilsbury, Thames and Felixstowe consignments.

The service will comply with the European Agreement Concerning The International Carriage Of Dangerous Goods By Road (ADR) at its TDG Thurrock unit that specialises in fuel and chemical operation previously using tanker trucks.

"We found there was a real gap in the market for a company capable of not just arranging container services but having a robust ADR specialism, particularly in the Thames area," said Chris Smith, TDG site manager of a depot based in Essex on the north side of the Thames.

The UK's Transport Intelligence reported that the service offers ADR trained container operators from TDG and tractor units who meet stringent ADR safety standards, "which is not common place for container operators, so customers can have a great deal of confidence in our service", he added.
