HANJIN Shipping has taken delivery of the 9,954-TEU Hanjin Netherlands, the second vessel in a five-ship series that was built by Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries. The carrier placed the order with the shipyard in August 2006.
The Hanjin Netherlands follows the Hanjin Korea delivered last June. She is expected to be deployed on the Asia-Europe loop 6 (NE6) that is provided by the shipping lines participating in the CKYH alliance, reports Alphaliner.
It said deliveries of the last four containerships in the series have been postponed to this year from 2010. It said the remaining three ships, the Hanjin China, Hanjin Spain and Hanjin United, are all expected to be delivered "in close succession in the coming weeks" and all of the vessels will join the NE6 loop.
