DENMARK's Maersk Line has taken delivery of the 13,092-TEU Maersk Erving, the second of five similar-sized container ships that the carrier chartered from UK-based Zodiac Maritime in February 2010.
The ship was built by South Korea's Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries after an order for all five vessels was placed in August 2007, said Alphaliner.
It reported that the Maersk Erving will be deployed on the carrier's Asia-Europe AE7 service and will take the place of the smaller 9,600-TEU Maersk Algol.
The Maersk Erving comes hot on the heels of the January delivery of the Maersk Edison, the first ship in the series.
