May 21, 2008 Shipping

Chilean carriers CCNI and CSAV will next month swap calls on their joint Gulf Express Service (GEX) from Puerto Lim in Costa Rica to Santo Tom de Castilla in Guatemala.

CCNI said the decision to drop Puerto Lim was made due to the port's draft limitations. The last call at the Costa Rican port will be made by the CSAV Venezuela on June 6. The CCNI Veracruz will make the first call at Santo Tom de Castilla on June 16.

The weekly service uses three ships averaging 1,743 TEUs and will have a revised port rotation of Houston, Altamira, Veracruz, Santo Tom de Castilla, Puerto Cort, Cartagena, Puerto Cabello, San Juan, Rio Haina and Houston.
