Hanjin Shipping announced the opening of its dedicated terminal in Cai Mep, Vietnam as of March 16th, 2011.

Joint-ventured by Hanjin Shipping, Saigon New Port, Mitsui O.S.K Line and Wanhai Lines, Tan Cang Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) had been developed over the past two years since 2009.
This terminal sits on an approximately 346,000m2 of land located at the basin of the Cai Mep River, which is 50km distant from Ho Chi Minh City, the center of the country's rising economy. 15.8m deep, the terminal can accommodate mega-vessels and with two berths it can handle up to 1.15 million TEU of cargo on annual basis. Since January, 4 of Transpacific and Asia-Europe lanes have been calling the terminal and more services will be joining in near future.

Se-Hwa Jung, Chief Executive of Hanjin Shipping's Terminal Business Unit commented, "We are expecting a lot from this new dedicated terminal in Vietnam as it will soon become a major logistics hub in the region. Many of major carriers as ourselves are investing in Intra-Asia and we believe having a dedicated terminal will help us make stronger presence in the market."

Meanwhile, Hanjin Shipping is currently operating 14 dedicated terminals world-wide including Algeciras, Spain, which opened last July.
