SOUTH western Guizhou province plans to spend CNY275 billion (US$41.9 billion) on road and water transport, increasing the length of its expressways to more than 3,000 kilometres by 2015, Xinhua reports.
During this period, the province will focus on building five road transport hubs at Guiyang, Zuiyang, Liupanshui, Duyun and Bijie and two waterways connecting the province to the Yangtze River in the north and to Pearl River in the south.
This year, the province plans to spend CNY52 billion on road and water traffic projects, including Shanghai-Kunming expressway Guizhou section and the Hangzhou-Ruili expressway Guizhou section, raising its length by 494 kilometres to over 2,000 kilometres by the end of year.
