Qinghai's overland freight volume up 13.6 pc in 2010

WESTERN China's Qinghai province posted a 13.6 per cent growth in overland freight volume to 114.26 million tonnes in 2010, reports Xinhua.


Provincial rail freight volume increased 21.6 per cent to 32.86 million tonnes while the road freight volume grew 11 per cent to 19.62 million tonnes.


Passenger volume came to 110 million person trips, up 8.9 per cent over 2009. The rail transported 473.6 million passenger with a 10 per cent increase while the road, 104.4 million with an 8.7 per cent growth.
