Shenzhen's ChinaTrans International Limited, an intermodal company with 24 offices in mainland China, has announced it will expand its network within the Asia Pacific region with a greater focus on less-than-container-load (LCL) products.

In making the announcement, ChinaTrans group president Allen Fang welcomed Raymond Yap to board as ChinaTrans' CEO for the NVOCC division to facilitate the expansion programme, which will soon add offices in the Asia Pacific region identified as CIL (Asia).

The expansion will focus on LCL products with in-house consolidation services serving Asia Pacific and North America this year in addition to the group's existing services.

Mr Fang said Mr Yap adds value to the group as he brings vast experience in LCL consolidation. Mr Yap has more than 18 years experience in the NVOCC industry, having held top management positions in Asia's leading NVOCC companies and international NVOCC organisations.

Within the dynamic Asian economy, the company said it is crucial to have a strong, comprehensive network in the region. "I believe strong economic growth within Asia will continue and it is the right time for ChinaTrans to go regional with more focus on the LCL consolidation activities, said Mr Yap.
