TRANSPACIFIC start-up The Containership Company (TCC) will launch a second string in its Far East and the US West Coast in April to complement its Great Dragon Service (GDS) launched last year.
The GDS service between Taicang and Los Angeles deploys five ships between 2,900- and 3,000-TEU, with two extra calls at Ningbo and Qingdao added in late summer, reports Paris-based Alphaliner. The port rotation for the second string is yet to be confirmed.
TCC launched its transpacific no-frills service last summer by cheaply chartering ships, using lower-cost terminals in China and reducing US port calls.
