NYK starts regular calls at Benin, with SWAX service

JAPANESE shipping giant NYK will start calling at Cotonou, Benin, on its South Africa and West Africa Express (SWAX) service, increasing coverage to meet rising demand from West Africa, the company said.


The new SWAX rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen-Shekou, Singapore, Durban, Lome (Togo), Tema (Ghana), Lagos-Apapa, Cotonou (Benin), Durban, Singapore and back to Shanghai.


The first sailing that puts into the Benin Port of Cotonou departs Shanghai March 9. SWAX is operated with Nile Dutch Africa Line.
