Grand Alliance drops Shenzhen's Shekou, sticks with Da Chan Bay

THE Grand Alliance, made up of Hapag-Lloyd, OOCL and NYK Line is omitting a call at Shenzhen-Shekou while staying with the nearby Da Chan Bay terminal on its Loop B service from Vancouver-Seattle to Asia and Europe, reports ComPair Data. The service also cuts one sailing from April.


The new rotation will be Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen-Da Chan Bay, Singapore, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Jeddah, Dubai, Singapore, Da Chan Bay, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Vancouver, Seattle, Vancouver, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe and back to Busan.


The service deploys Hapag-Lloyd 17 ships in the 8,729-TEU range with APL, MOL and Hyundai Merchant Marine alliance members and Zim buying slots.


Maersk cuts New York and Japan calls from all-water TP string


DANISH shipping giant Maersk Line has dropped New York and Japan calls on its transpacific all water TP7 service, according to ComPair Data.


From March 1, the new rotation will be Kaohsiung, Shenzhen-Yantian, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Busan, Balboa, Miami, Savannah, Charleston, Miami, Balboa, Los Angeles, Oakland and back Kaohsiung.


ComPair Data said transit times from eastbound to Miami and other US east coast ports will be shortened by two days. The service deploys nine ships in the 4,850 TEU range.
