AADA, ANZDA hike BAFs between Asia and Australia/ New Zealand

THE Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) and the Asia New Zealand Discussion Agreement (ANZDA) have announced increases in bunker adjustment factor (BAF) surcharges between Asia and Australia/New Zealand.


For shipments to Australia from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China AADA bunker surcharges will be increased to US$525 per TEU and $1,050 per FEU for dry and reefer cargo from March 26.


AADA members include ANL, CSCL, Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin, Hapag Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, Maersk, MSC, MOL, NYK, OOCL and Zim.


The ANZDA announced similar bunker surcharge hikes on shipments to/from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China and well as North East Asia and Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam in South East Asia and New Zealand is to be $625 per TEU and $1,250 per FEU for dry and refrigerated containers from April 1.


ANZDA members are Cosco, Hamburg Sud, MISC Berhad, MOL, NYK, OOCL and PIL.
