Dec 31, 2010 Shipping

SINGAPORE's Pacific International Lines (PIL) is amending the rotation of its China Transpacific (CTP) service by adding a direct port of call at Vancouver from the end of December, 2010.

The carrier will not be adding any additional capacity to the service as it will continue to be operated with six vessels ranging in size from 1,550 to 1,740 TEU, reported Alphaliner.

It said the revised port rotation for the CTP service will be Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shekou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Vancouver, returning to Xiamen.

Alphaliner added that with this additional Vancouver call, PIL will offer three weekly services between East Asia and Vancouver, as it already calls at the Canadian port though purchasing slots on the Grand Alliance's NWX loop (Pacific string of loop).
