THAILAND's Regional Container Lines (RCL) and the Kambara Kisen Company (KKC) of Japan plan have confirmed reports that they aim to establish a joint venture.
The intra-Asian feeder and domestic carrier and the Japanese coastal operator said they were extending "our existing cooperation into a joint-branding business partnership," reported Container International online.
It said the development builds upon the carriers' existing two-year tie-up that involved linking six South East Asia ports with the same number of Japanese out ports.
KKC president Akio Jo was quoted as saying, "The fast growth within the two years of our cooperation is very positive. This is testimony of our customers' vote of confidence in our business partnership model."
