ECU LINE is now connected to INTTRA network following a successful pilot program using the non vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) e-commerce platform. The Antwerp-headquartered company will now receive shipping instructions electronically from its customers.
We expect the INTTRA network to be our fastest growing electronic documentation channel working alongside our long-standing systems of ECU LINE EDI and ECU WEB EDI, said ECU LINE group president and chief executive Franky Van Doren.
"I believe the collaborative and neutral nature of INTTRA as a network based on open standards for all forwarders, will help us to achieve our goal of processing the majority of our transactions via e-commerce in key markets around the world within two years," he added in a statement.
John DeBenedette, INTTRA vice president commercial said, "Eighty-one of the top one hundred forwarders are connected to INTTRA to streamline their FCL Shipment processes with vessel-owning carriers. We are delighted to offer the same capability for LCL, and ECU LINE to receive shipments from their customers and gain significant efficiencies and control costs."
INTTRA users initiate more than 350,000 container orders per week, representing more than 12 per cent of global ocean container trade.
