Pirates with semi-autos board ship off Lagos, injure Russian

NOVOSHIP's 47,000-ton tanker, the NS Spirit, has been boarded by Nigerian pirates, 55 kilometres off Lagos, reports the Moscow Times.

Ten armed men opened fire with automatic weapons on the ship, said a Novoship's statement. A crewman, possibly the ship's captain, was injured and hospitalised while the rest of the crew hid themselves until the pirates quit the ship, reported Tanker Operator.
