Heavy lift operator Teras Cargo Transport (American), a marine transport and logistics service provider, and BBC Chartering & Logistic GmbH & Co. KG, a provider of shipping solutions for both heavy lift and project cargo, have entered into an alliance for the joint ownership of the multipurpose heavy lift vessel, BBC Houston, which is US-flagged.
Joe Sanders, president and CEO of Teras Cargo Transport, said: "This latest edition to our fleet, the BBC Houston, will increase our presence in the United States and worldwide, and it will improve our service on every continent."
The BBC Houston, a 7,500 dwt multipurpose, heavy lifter with combined crane capacity of 500mt and a service speed of 16.5 knots, is operated by the new joint venture company, Teras BBC Chartering Houston LLC. Teras BBC is jointly owned by the US subsidiaries of BBC Chartering and Teras, a joint company statement said.
