DANISH shipping giant Maersk Line and its sister company Safmarine have amended three of their Algeciras/Tangier-West Africa relay services, namely the WAF 1, WAF2 and WAF3.
Maersk has furthermore added a tenth feeder service to the West Africa trade that is centred on the Algeciras and Tangier hubs, said Alphaliner.
The additional WAF10 loop, it said, is dedicated to the Angola market and serves Tangier, Algeciras, Luanda, Lobito, Malaga, Tangier on a fortnightly basis, using three 1,700-TEU containerships.
The WAF10 "complements the WAF5, which offers a direct Portugal-Angola connection on top of a Gibraltar hubs feeder connection, serving the Portugal and Angola markets," said Alphaliner.
It added that Maersk Line and Safmarine revamped their WAF relay services in August, when port rotations were swapped among its nine WAF services.
