Canada Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement hikes currency charge

Nov 2, 2010 Shipping

THE Canada Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement member lines have announced they will hike their currency adjustment surcharge to seven per cent from December 1.

At five per cent in October, the surcharge has gone up six per cent in November as currencies, particularly Japan's, rise sharply against the dollar. CTSA updates its currency surcharges monthly basis, usually a month before the rate takes effect.

CTSA, whose member lines provide service between Asia and Canada, include APL, Cosco, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai, "K" Line, NYK, OOCL, Yang Ming and Zim.
