JAPAN's NYK has increased the frequency of its Duisburg Rail Express (DRX) service to six cycles a week between Rotterdam and Duisburg with trains running every day, reports the UK's Transport Intelligence.
From NYK's inland Duisburg Trimodal Terminal (D3T), block trains provide an intermodal service connecting Germany's the Rhine/Ruhr industrial heartland to the Port of Rotterdam.
"By handling its 125,000th container after two-and-a-half years, we can be optimistic about our inland terminal in Duisburg as a key hub for the hinterland. We expect growing throughput," said NYK Line (Deutschland) managing director Klaus-Peter Barth.
