Oct 25, 2010 Shipping

Before the end of 2010, TransContainer is going to buy 50 per cent of Kedentransservice, a large container operator in Kazakhstan, according to the Russian Transport Daily Report.

The deal will be closed in two stages, said the report. At first, TransContainer will buy 67 per cent of the stock from private investors, and then 17 per cent of this shareholding will be sold to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy which currently holds 33 per cent. Thus, TransContainer and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy will own the company on parity basis by the end of the year.
