THE Containership Co (TCC) recently announced its transpacific Great Dragon service will add a call at Qingdao starting from November 15, on a complete rotation of Taicang, Ningbo, Qingdao, Los Angeles and back to Taicang.

The shuttle service was launched in April and has been operated with five vessels with an average capacity of 2,960 TEU, reports American Shipper. "Right now, the greatest demand from our customers is a push to get a good TCC product from Qingdao. With a fast 14-day transit time, combined with a schedule reliability of 96 per cent, we are now able to provide such a service," said TCC chief operating officer Frank Kayser.

Qingdao and other Bohai Bay ports are named by American as the third major port cluster in China.
