FESCO to close summer navigation season in eastern Arctic

THE Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) expects to finish its summer navigation season in the eastern Arctic by the end of October.

FESCO's icebreaker Admiral Makarov has been providing vessel escort in the Eastern Arctic to deliver over 110,000 tons of cargo to Chukotka and northern areas of Yakutia, reports Russia's Port News News Agency.

It said FESCO has been deploying the world's most powerful diesel electric icebreakers, the Krasin and the Admiral Makarov, on this route.
