U-Freight looks to air and ocean freight areas at annual conference

HONG KONG's U-Freight Group, an international freight service and logistics group, examined prospects in the air and ocean freight forwarding environment at its annual conference in Shanghai last week.

CEO Simon Wong said the conference represents a valuable opportunity to let all member companies within the U-Freight Group exchange the latest market information and strengthen corporate links at a time when the IATA reports "striking" recovery.

"With question marks still remaining about the level of recovery of the global economy, delegates from UFL's worldwide office and agency network, including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand, as well as all over Asia, will gather in Shanghai to review progress and plan strategy for the year ahead," he added.

An ever-increasing interest in oceanfreight forwarding, through the group's U-Ocean brand, conference delegates will also be examining the likely impact of such developments as peak season surcharges and slow steaming policies being deployed by liner shipping companies.

Since the late 1960s, the U-Freight Group has developed into one of the world's leading independent providers of international freight forwarding and logistics services. Through its international network of subsidiary companies and exclusive agents, the company offers the full range of air and sea freight services and is in an especially strong position to serve the needs of shippers moving goods to, from and between China, Japan and the ASEAN countries.
