MITSUI OSK Lines Ltd (MOL) has announced that the Japanese shipping company has once again been selected for inclusion in the major socially responsible investing (SRI) indices, namely the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia/Pacific) and the FTSE4Good Global Index.

This comes after the FTSE Group, a joint venture between the Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange, earlier this month announced its selections for the FTSE4Good Global Index. Meanwhile, the US-based Dow Jones named companies for the DJSI Asia/Pacific Index.

Companies chosen for these indices must meet international criteria for social responsibility in areas such as corporate governance, environmental protection, human rights, and relationships with stakeholders, and are expected to be leaders in sustainable growth. Selected companies become target investments for SRI funds.

As advocated in the MOL Group Corporate Principles, the company said it plans to continuously enhancing its group-wide approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR). The company added that it strives to become an excellent, resilient company that can contribute to sustainable worldwide growth.
