DENMARK's Maersk Line is dropping the port call at Mobile, Alabama, from its Transatlantic TA-2 service, starting from the end of September until early next year.
Service to Mobile will be provided via inland transport only during this period. APL and HMM services to Mobile will also be affected as these carriers slot on the TA-2, reports Alphaliner.
The revised TA-2 rotation is Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Bremerhaven, New Jersey, Charleston, Savannah, Houston, Miami, Norfolk, returning to Rotterdam.
The APM Terminals operated Mobile Container Terminal (MCT) will lose its sole transatlantic service as a result of this move.
