Sep 14, 2010 Shipping

ALLCARGO Global Logistics, head-quartered at Mumbai, is to double capacity at its container freight station (CFS) at the largest container terminal on the west coast of India, located at Mundra in Gujarat by commissioning a further warehouse.

The second warehouse will be 6,085 square metres alongside its current one of 6,125 square metres with its paved yard of 19,125 square metres. Expansion will increase its monthly export handling to 4,000 TEU and double its overall total to 7,700 TEU.

Allcargo Global Logistics head Adarsh Hegde said the expansion was the result of the CFS' consistent growth with the rising demand for storage space, logistics solutions and value-added services. Also the growing number of diverse special needs clients in the retail, fast moving consumer goods, automotive, pharmaceutical and frozen foods sectors.

This expansion is designed to cater to such diverse needs," said Mr Hegde in a report published in India's Business Standard.
