OWL (Ocean World Lines), a door-to-door and end-to-end NVOCC, has opened a new office in Singapore in line with its expanding presence in the Asia Pacific region.

The operation is offering a single source for air, ocean, cargo management and Asia regional distribution. OWL will manage all import and export activities for its customers without the use of an agent.

Heading up the new office is Alvin Lee who assumes the position of director and who joins OWL with more than 20 years of experience in global air, ocean, cargo management and regional distribution in the Singapore market, as well as in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region.

"We move a large amount of import and export cargo through Singapore and we wanted to take 100 per cent control of our own operations," said OWL vice president Eric Seamon. "Singapore's duty-free zone status makes OWL's distribution centre a prime location for replenishing local and regional demand."

Mr Seamon said the company plans to use Singapore as its south east Asia base and it will act as a central hub for data input and quality control for its cargo management services in the region.
