Royal Haskoning earns US$5 million in first half

DUTCH dock design and engineering construction company Royal Haskoning has achieved a net profit of EUR4 million (US$5.23 million) compared with EUR1.9 million in the first half-year of 2009.

The result is attributed to cost reductions. Turnover stood at EUR169 million, nine per cent lower compared with that of the first half of 2009. The added value of EUR136 million was five per cent below the level of the first half of 2009.

In the first half of 2010, the company received new orders worth EUR206 million. In the same period in 2009 the figure was EUR196 million. The increase in new orders mainly came from the divisions concerned with water and ports.
