Jiangxi's first export LCL service launched

Aug 5, 2010 Shipping

THE first less-than-container load (LCL) service for exports from Jiangxi province, which is between the province's capital Nanchang to Shenzhen, was recently launched officially after months of trail operation, Xinhua reported.

With launch of the service, shippers in Jiangxi can go through customs procedures in the Nanchang customs before cargo enters bonded warehouses in Shenzhen by rail or road and later shipped to more than 1,200 destinations worldwide.

Eighty per cent of Jiangxi exports move by road to sea ports for consolidation. The new service helps simplify customs procedures by offering one-stop service and reduces time to around 10 days from the previous 20 days, cutting 65 per cent's cost at the most.

Operator of the service said they plan to start such service from Nanchang to Shanghai, Ningbo and Xiamen in the future.
