DHL has launched two, direct, less-than-container-load (LCL) services from Shenzhen in China, to Aarhus in Denmark and to Helsinki in Finland.
With the two new services, transit time for shipments from Shenzhen to Aarhus and Helsinki will be reduced by up to three days, to 28 and 29 days respectively, as cargo is shipped directly instead of being routed via Hong Kong.
Operated by Danmar Lines, DHL Global Forwarding's in-house carrier, these new LCL services strengthens DHL's existing LCL offerings between South China and North Europe and Scandinavia.
Kelvin Leung, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding, North Asia Pacific, said, "Today's launch of our direct LCL services reflects our continued confidence in the Chinese market and also deepens our position as the reliable and trusted partner for Chinese businesses."
With the introduction of the new LCL services from Shenzhen to the Nordics, DHL now operates 150 LCL services between Asia Pacific and Europe. DHL's LCL network handles approximately two million cubic meters of LCL freight annually via 45,000 point pairs within the DHL in-house system.
