TRANSCONTAINER posted first half net profit under Russian accounting standards (RAS) of RUB67.6 million (US$2.23 million), three times as much as that earned in the same period of 2009, said the Russian Transport Daily Report.
First half revenues amounted to RUB9.7 billion, an increase of 26.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2009. Sale profit totalled RUB823.3 million for the first half, up 28.2 per cent year on year.
Cargo traffic by the company's fitting platforms totalled 552,400 TEU in the first half, which is 1.4 per cent up against the same period last year, including 334,200 TEU of domestic traffic and 218,200 TEU of international traffic.
The company's terminals handled 727,000 TEU in the first six months of the year, an increase of 6.7 per cent.
At the same time, the volume of road freight transported by the company's own flat cars rose by 17.9 per cent in the second quarter of 2010 compared to the first quarter of 2010.
