CMA CGM puts 6,500- and 10,400-TEU ships on Asia/Europe

MARSEILLES' CMA CGM has received delivery of the 6,500-TEU CMA CGM Lamartine and 11,400-TEU CMA CGM Callisto from South Korea's Hanjin Heavy Industries shipyards to meet demand on the Asia-north Europe Mediterranean trades.


The Lamartine is assigned to the Asia-Mediterranean market on the MEX (Mediterranean Express) service. The vessel rotation is as follows: Yokohama, Kobe, Busan, Kwanyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Beirut, Malta, Valencia, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Naples, Malta, Damietta, Khorfakkan, Port Kelang, Chiwan, Yokohama.


The CMA CGM Callisto is the third of a series of 12 vessels of 11,400 TEU ordered by the French shipping giant between 2010 and 2011. The ship is 360 metres long, 45 metres wide and has a 15.5-metre draught.


The ship will be deployed on the FAL 5 (French Asia Line) service between Asia and North Europe. The rotation effective immediately starts from Ningbo before calling Shanghai, Shenzhen-Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Port Kelang and Singapore.
