CMA CGM put new 6,500-TEU, 11,400-TEU ships on Asia-Europe run

MARSEILLES' CMA CGM shipping giant has announced that it has taken delivery of the 6,500-TEU CMA CGM Lamartine and the 11,400-TEU CMA CGM Callisto from Hanjin Heavy Industries in South Korea.

The CMA CGM Lamartine was immediately deployed on the Asia-Mediterranean route in the MEX (Mediterranean Express) service on the following rotation: Yokohama, Kobe, Busan, Kwanyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shenzhen-Chiwan, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Beirut, Malta, Valencia, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Naples, Malta, Damietta, Khorfakkan, Port Kelang, Shenzhen-Chiwan and back to Yokohama.

The larger CMA CGM Callisto is the third of a 12 same-size vessel order to be delivered this year and next. The Callisto is 360 metres long, 45 metres large with a 15.5 metre draught, and is equipped with environmentally friendly features.

The Callisto has been deployed on the FAL 5 (French Asia Line) service between Asia and North Europe. CMA CGM Callisto has also started its rotation in Ningbo before calling on Shanghai, Shenzhen-Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Port Kelang and Singapore.
