SINGAPORE'S Neptune Orient Lines' (NOL) container unit APL is about to start a Baltic feeder service linking Hamburg and Bremerhaven to Tallinn in Estonia, using the chartered US-flag 575-TEU National Glory.

Tallinn is currently served with APL's Northern Baltic Express (NBX) service, which also covers St Petersburg.

In the meanwhile, Team Lines has launched its Scan & Spain butterfly service by combining the Scandinavia and Spain feeder loops to offer a new butterfly service centred on Rotterdam and Antwerp with one wing serving Sweden (Goteborg) and Norway (Oslo) and the other serving Bilbao in Spain, reports Alphaliner.

The service is ensured with the 749-TEU Vega and the 974-TEU Jana. The port rotation is Goteborg, Oslo, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Bilbao, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Goteborg.

Said a Team Lines statement: "The convenient connection from Scandinavia to/from the Iberian Peninsula and the combination of the shorter Norway leg and the longer Spain leg will contribute to secure the stability of schedules."
