New container service between Busan, Dafeng

Apr 22, 2008 Shipping

Centrans Shipping International Marine has started a weekly container service between Dafeng Port in China's Jiangsu Province and Busan in South Korea.

The 704-TEU Vega Sonja is scheduled to make its maiden call at the Korean port Tuesday.

According to a release from the Busan Port Authority (BPA), the new service will allow Centrans to handle its U.S and Europe bound cargo at Busan instead of Shanghai.

The BPA last month signed a memorandum of understanding with Dafeng Port to establish cooperative ties, as part of a wider strategy to increase container service connections with small and medium-sized ports in Japan, China, and Russia.
