THE Port of Antwerp will host the heavy lift freight forwarding network's next annual conference from June 30 to July 3, 2010.

"PPG is looking forward to meeting in Belgium and at one of Europe's major heavy lift project cargo ports," said Project Professionals Group general manager Kevin Stephens in a statement issued by the over dimensional (third party logistics) 3PL firm.

Mr Stephens said he expected up to 150 freight movers, ship owners and related industry companies from over 50 countries to attend the 2010 conference, which will feature presentations at the Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Centre.

PPG member and provider of international transport engineering, freight forwarding and customs brokerage services, Polytra NV, is assisting with planning the conference.

Polytra CEO Guy Velge said the conference represented an opportunity to internationally showcase the port's capabilities as a multi-model transportation hub.

"Polytra has appointed a steering committee to assist in the organisation of this major event that offers many opportunities to establish new business networks and strengthen existing links within the project cargo supply chain," Mr Velge added.
