MUSCAT: VLCC, a scientific slimming, beauty and preventive healthcare brand in the region, unveiled its first centre in Oman at Shatti Al Qurum yesterday. His Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Thuwaini Al Said inaugurated the centre, in the presence of Vandana Luthra, founder and mentor of VLCC and Mukesh Luthra, chairman and managing director, VLCC. The newly-opened centre promises to set international standards in health and beauty in Oman, by bringing a new wellness experience.
The VLCC centre, located at Villa No.1067, Sarooj, Shatti Al Qurum (near the Iraq embassy), aims at revolutionising the concept of beauty and fitness in Oman.
VLCC will promote a new approach in the wellness business.
The new centre will offer VLCC’s signature brand of customised slimming services including weight loss, body therapy, body firmer, body contouring, gel therapy, lipofit and other ‘Weight Maintenance Programmes’.
Also on offer are beauty services, encompassing regular hair-wash and conditioning, different type of hair massages, spa therapies, skin-care services and make-up programmes.
Apart from its emphasis on world-class fitness and beauty services, the centre will also showcase VLCC’s comprehensive personal care products. Patrons can choose from over 100 VLCC skin-care, haircare and body-care products made naturally from herbal and Ayurvedic remedies.
A launch event held later in the evening showcased a performance of different art forms — a symbiotic fusion of music and dance from India and the Arab world.
The spectacular show emphasised the synthesis of two art forms and two cultures with one common denominator – ‘Love of arts’.
In an endeavour to further showcase VLCC’s ‘Love for art’, the evening presented a special performance by renowned artistes and exponents from the field of music and dance. It was a breathtaking performance — an interpretation of the vision of a healthy and progressive Oman, foreseen by Vandana Luthra.
Luthra said: “Our new centre in Muscat is well positioned to meet the needs of this health conscious market in Oman and is in line with our promise to our consumers — to provide them with state-of-the-art slimming, beauty and fitness services in a congenial and comfortable environment.”
“We are indeed proud to unveil our first slimming centre in the Sultanate amidst the fusion of two cultures and two art forms.
This performance by the gifted artistes connects converses and collaborates with what VLCC espouses to offer in Oman, and the region. The performance explicitly conveys that art sees no boundaries, and when the best from the two cultures come together, it creates something of its own, something unique — which is what VLCC is all about,” she added.
Among those who took centre stage at the event included world-renowned flute maestro Rakesh Chaurasia and his group from India on one podium, the well known Sarod exponent, Ustad Anupam Shobhakad with his group on another and the famed dance troupe, Nritarutya on the third. The culmination of the pulsating event was an exhilarating performance by the dancers on the floor, in tandem with the music, beamed live on two giant projection screens from overhead cameras, creating an unforgettable experience.
VLCC has carved a distinct niche for itself in the ‘wellness’ domain, which includes slimming, beauty, fitness, personal care products as well as beauty and nutrition institutes.
Starting as a single centre in New Delhi in 1989, VLCC is today India’s leading chain of health, beauty and fitness centres to become an over RO40 million business. Widely recognised for its scientific weight loss solutions and therapeutic beauty approach, it offers services over a quarter million square feet of retail space across over 140 centres in 70 cities across India, Nepal, Oman and the UAE.
Having pioneered the concept of complete wellbeing, both inside and outside, VLCC has integrated into product and brand extensions — VLCC Personal Care range of products, VLCC Nail Studio and Spa and VLCC Institute. The VLCC Institute currently has 22 campuses across 17 cities in India with a student strength of over 2,500.
